Yotsuya Sohenshu Suga Shrine

Suga Shrine has been located in Yotsuya since the beginning of the Edo period and is the town guardian of Yotsuya's eighteen neighborhoods.

The name "Suga" is based on the legend that Susano-no-mikoto defeated a serpent of Yamata upstream in the Land of Izumo and picked it up, declaring, "I have come to this land and my heart is Suga, Suga," and occupied a palace residence.
